Dr. Feinsilver received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He completed his medical residency at University Hospital in Boston, and then a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center, Stanford, California. He served on the faculty of Brown University for four years, and then became director of the pulmonary function laboratory and Sleep Center at Winthrop-University Hospital. He became the director of the division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset in 1997, before moving to practice at Cardiovascular Medical Associates in March of 2005. In August of 2011 he joined the faculty of Mount Sinai School of Medicine as Director of the Center for Sleep Medicine. Dr. Feinsilver has published more than 100 articles and book chapters, and edited a textbook on bronchoscopy. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the College of Chest Physicians, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He is a reviewer for the journals Sleep, Sleep and Breathing, the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, and Chest. He was the Governor for New York State for the American College of Chest Physicians from 2005-2009, and now serves on the Steering Committee for the Sleep Institute of the ACCP. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Sleep Medicine. As of September 2011 his practice is limited to Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan and at 560 Northern Boulevard, Great Neck, NY.
